I Watched Sing 2 Every Day for 45 Days
Here’s what I learned
For those of you without children, or who haven’t seen Sing or Sing 2, my two sentence summary:
— a small-town group of musical animals put on a once in a lifetime show in Redshore City (Las Vegas), through a series of stretched truths and stretched abilities, all while singing Top 40 songs. It has an all-star cast, who can sing fairly well (❤ Taron Edgerton) as well as some music legends (Halsey, Bono).
So why have I watched it every day for 45 days? Well, my 1 1/2 year old can’t get enough of it (granted I know, no screen time for kids, but we go out and play too 😅). She’s glued to the screen and even dances around for certain songs. Here’s what I learned from the film and from watching her.
Some spoilers ahead, so if you haven’t watched it, be warned!
Kids Love Repetition, with Good Reason
The film centers around performers who have 3 weeks to put on a world class sci-fi musical. Plenty of scenes involve repetition and rehearsal. The same dance moves, the same songs, the same lines. Repetition is the boring but necessary step the characters take to work out the kinks in their performances, as well as grow personally when they hit stumbling blocks.
