Why a Password Manager Again?
Passwords are a necessary evil of the internet… hopefully we’ll all be using Passkeys for things here soon, but until then, we’ll have to rely on usernames and passwords.
If you want to make your accounts as hack-proof as possible, using long, unique and hard to guess passwords is the way to go for password based accounts.
Doing so without a password manager is a difficult exercise. With the password manager, you can simply generate a long string of characters that fit the constraints of the site and store it right away, so you can easily login across devices.
But I think there’s a stronger reason to opt for a password manager, namely: contingencies.
Bad Things Happen to All People
We will all die at some point, but our accounts don’t disappear with us. We could even be incapacitated before dying, but our accounts will be inaccessible, especially if we’ve used a password manager with a good master password and multifactor authentication.
