We Won’t Fix the Climate, So What Should We Do Instead?

Centering everything around carbon might be foolish

The World is Ending!

Doomsday is nothing new. It’s written into many religious works, like the Christian New Testament. One of the best Marvel films is a highly entertaining reimagining of the Norse myth of Ragnarok, the end of the world (or as it plays out in the film, the end of Asgard).

These days the people that say the world is ending are not religious folks, or people wearing sandwich board signs about repenting.

Instead they are environmentalists and the UN, food companies and billionaires, who say “we have to solve the climate crisis, or else…”

The evidence is incredibly strong for Anthropogenic Global Warming. The simplest evidence is just the pictures we can take of the polar ice caps from space. At the same time of year, just rolled forward a few decades.

Where da ice at? (from Wikipedia)

Plenty of other things point to the evidence, but this article isn’t going to disprove Climate Change (doing so would be an exercise in cherry picking data). It’s to ask, what are we doing to stop it?
